I’ve heard at least 100 different opinions about eating walleye caught out of the Detroit river. Most non-fishermen are disgusted by the idea. But most anglers seem alright with it. I personally don’t have an issue with eating a few walleye from the river per year. If you fry them up right you can hardly taste the PCB’s at all! Just kidding. Actually, walleye are pretty safe to eat according to the DNR. Here’s the current guide on fish consumption (http://www.michigan.gov/documents/FishAdvisory03_67354_7.pdf)
Starting this week, new signs will be posted along the river walk in Detroit advising anglers on which fish to fry and which to release. This video from WDIV gives a quick run-down– http://www.clickondetroit.com/video/23283031/index.html
